Beaches

There are several beaches in the area. Our favourite is Dunmoran Strand, a long sweeping stretch and Aughris Head where you will also find the Beach Bar where you can enjoy a drink or bar food (in season) looking across the bay to Knocknarea and beyond.

To get there, on a scenic route, turn left out the gate and follow your nose for 30 mins. When you meet the main N59 Sligo-Ballina road turn left for ~100m and then right at brown sign for strand.

Surfers are being drawn to Co Sligo for its wonderful waves too. Strandhill is very popular just 25 mins from here.
