Wedding Reception

A wedding reception at Temple House is unusual and deliberately different. It is not a hotel but a wonderful country house overlooking Knights Templar castle - it all adds to a very special experience.

We encourage all our parties to gather in the vestibule for champagne and canapes. It is a spectacular space and holds a huge number of people who are usually looking up at the wonders of the ceiling before moving through to the morning room and drawing room. One would also hope that the sun will shine on your day so that you can enjoy the garden and its views too.

We have the following 3 options for you to consider. Let's try to keep it simple!

A sit down for up to 80 either in the dining room or in the drawing room.

A sit down for more than 80 in a marquee on the croquet lawn overlooking the Knights Templar castle and the lake beyond is for you. Numbers are not limited at all - 250 would be fine. The marquee should have an open or clear side so that the castle, parkland and lake become part of your space.Click thru to this site for examples of marquee hire

Our preference - because it works so well.

Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the Big House throughout the day with numbers up to about 160+ with a buffet. (There is no lower limit on this by the way.) You don't have the added expense of a marquee and associated costs either.
