If you only have a day then you only have a day. Perhaps you are passing through on your way along the Wild Atlantic Way or giving yourselves a well earned break away.

Through the grand gates, and up the avenue. Escape to timeless relaxation.

Arrive at Temple House in time for dinner. We gather at 7 and sit down at 7.30pm. Meet in the Morning Room for drinks, check out the evening's menu and select your wine. We dine together around one large mahogany table and it is great fun sharing one's experiences.

Sleep Well

Following a leisurely and satisfying breakfast, including the full Irish, using locally sourced goods of course, you have a full day to enjoy. Meander down to the Knights Templar castle and perhaps go for a row on the lake. Then at 11am there is a great show at Eagles Flying, the Irish Raptor Centre, just 2 mins drive from our front gate. There is also a show at 3pm everyday.

Anybody for a pub lunch? Set off for the Beach Bar at Aughris Head. The gently weaving road will take you up the Ladies Brae over hill and down overlooking Ballisodare Bay, Knocknarea, Ben Bulben and beyond the Slieve League. The views are spectacular.

Give yourself time to walk along the beach from the bar to Dunmoran Strand and back. You may now reward yourselves again in the pub or set off along the Wild Atlantic Way towards Strandhill peninsula. You have a couple of options depending on the weather and your interests. Carrowmore megalithic cemetery has an interesting visitor's centre. Strandhill is a surfer's paradise but if you do not want to get wet, watch them whilst savouring an ice-cream from Mammy Johnston or coffee from Shell's Cafe. Life can be tough!

It is now time to head back to Temple House. Explore the extensive grounds some more or relax by an open fire before heading up to get ready for another exquisite dinner.

Experience dark skies and silence in peaceful surroundings.
