The Wild Atlantic Way

The Wild Atlantic Way

Easky Wild
15 mins From The House

The Wild Atlantic Way is a tremendous route for touring the west coast of Ireland. It starts in Cork, meanders it way up the west coast taking in the many highlights including the Ring of Kerry, The Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and then the delights of county Sligo which remains largely undiscovered. Stay at Temple House a luxury country house on your amazing journey.

Your Wild Atlantic Way route might include the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Connemara (stay at the award winning Quay House in Clifden), on your way up to Sligo where you should plan to stay 3 nights if you can. Stay inn a Sligo hotel or better still stay at the luxury country house of Temple House!

There is so much to do in Sligo, you might like to visit the megalithic tombs at Carrowkeel, the megalithic cemetery at Carrowmore, Queen Maeve’s cairn atop Knocknarea on the Strandhill peninsula. There is world class surfing at Strandhill, Mullaghmore and Easkey too. WB Yeats closely associated with the Lake Isle of Innisfree on Lough Gill, Drumcliffe and Lissadell might be some of your highlights. Aughris Head is signed off the Wild Atlantic Way near Skreen and you reach us by going over the Ladies Brae.

Leaving Sligo going north you should consider Slieve League in Donegal and the Giants Causeway on the north coast is spectacular too before you head round to the Titanic exhibition in Belfast.

So be sure to get further north than Connemara if you can. Sligo is quite beautiful, and if you have to, Dublin airport is just 2.5 hours from here.
