The Estate

A thousand years
of stories

Set on its own thousand-acre estate in County Sligo, Temple House has been home to the same family since 1665. Beyond the windows lie the ruins of a 13th-century Knights Templar castle, mirrored in the still water of the lake below.

It is, quite simply, one of Ireland’s great private houses — and for the length of your stay, it belongs entirely to you.

The most beautiful place we have ever stayed. Having the whole house to ourselves made our wedding feel impossibly intimate and grand at once.

A thousand acres of pure peace. We arrived frazzled and left restored — every detail considered, nothing rushed.

Dinner by candlelight in the morning room is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Faultless from start to finish.

Staying at Temple House is like stepping into another century, but with every modern comfort quietly taken care of.

The family who run it could not have been more gracious. It felt less like a venue and more like being welcomed into a great house.

We brought our leadership team for two nights and barely wanted to leave. The setting does half the work for you.

The lake, the ruins, the light through those tall windows — our photographer was in heaven. Genuinely breathtaking.

Exclusivity you can actually feel. Not another soul on the estate but our own party. Worth every penny.

We eloped here, just the two of us and the historian who told us the house’s stories. Magical beyond words.
