Staying at Temple House is a wonderful experience and just 10 minutes off the Wild Atlantic Way. You can pop in for just 1 night's bed and breakfast with dinner or preferably stay for longer. There is so much to see and do in county Sligo that we are confident that we can help fill your day(s) with interesting activities. Alternatively you may wish to do very little so we'll light the open fire and leave you to it. Dinner is available when you take the whole house exclusively.

There are not many rooms in the house, despite its size so it is a special experience as one meets new friends. The rooms vary in size, aspect and proportions but all of them are warm and comfortable with big windows surveying the beautiful surroundings. WiFi throughout and fresh bright bathrooms are important. You may take 1 room, 2... or the whole house for a party. We can sleep up to 20 with ease. The cottage sleeps 8 too.

We encourage you to explore the grounds (wellington boots are provided so that you do not bring sheep shit up the stairs!). The Knights Templar castle is fascinating dating back to around 1200. Remains of previous dwellings before the current house feature by the lake too. If you fancy a row, romantic or otherwise, you can take a boat out for free. 

Temple House is not really a hotel or your regular bed and breakfast. In our opinion and that of many reviews it is better. These big houses were built for entertaining and looking after guests - that's what we like to do too.

There are free rowing boats on the lake and miles of walks around the estate. Some wellington boots are provided too. Perhaps you like table tennis? Other things can be arranged like clay pigeons, archery, and eagles flying locally.
Temple House is a big house that was built to entertain so it is ideal for hosting birthday parties, anniversary parties, and other family ratherings.
Ballymote has Classic Cleaners launderette with a swift turn around.
There is so much to see and do that 2 nights is a minimum for sure. Our retreats tend to stay for up to 1 week and combine touring with activities.

There is an accessible downstairs loo. There are no downstairs bedrooms but the stairs are shallow with a chair on the half landing.
Temple House is ideal for a 30th, 40th, 50th 60th, 70th, 80th and yes, 90th birthday. A multi-generational family gathering is such fun.
