We have rowing boats for your enjoyment in the boathouse, beside the castle. There is no charge to residents for the boats.
Rowing boats (non-residents) — €35 per day.
Pike fishing — free with a boat; enthusiasm and some tackle available to residents.

SUP, kayaking and canoeing

Try SUP, kayaking and canoeing with Wild Wet Adventures on this lake. Packages include wet gear and safety equipment. Sessions range from individual 1:1 lessons, 2:1, women only, couples and small groups 8:1 of adults or children. Each session lasts approx 1 hr 30 mins and comprises theory, practise and paddle session.

Canoe trips
The Canadian Canoe is a safe and stable craft suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. The canoes are designed to take two people safely. With a minimum of tuition from John, your guide, Canadian canoeing gives the paddler a fresh perspective on nature, their surroundings and themselves.
Kayaking
Temple House estate is delighted to be able to offer kayaking trips on the lake and river. Start with a full Irish breakfast after a blissful night’s sleep at Temple House! You will need to be reasonably fit but no kayaking experience is necessary — your dedicated guide will lead you through the session.
Wild Wet Adventures run the guided kayak tours. Discover untouched nature and world renowned landmarks from the comfort of your own kayak, up close with unique marine and bird life. The tours are safe, fun and easy for everyone to do. Sit-on-tops are available; trips are by arrangement.
Stand up paddling (SUP)
Experience the calm beauty of Temple House from a whole new perspective. Glide across the tranquil waters of the lake on a stand-up paddleboard and soak in the peaceful surroundings of this historic estate — the castle ruins and rolling countryside — whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned paddler. Equipment and guidance provided, ensuring a safe and fun experience for all ages and abilities.
